Did some leaf raking during pretty quiet day.

News set me off as usual. This time it was with Christians who are upset with Starbucks' new holiday cups. They're mad because the cups are plain red without holiday designs. How the lack of a snowflake or a snowman on the side of a cup puts down Christians is beyond me. Also, I am mystified by the interest in the Kardashians. Members of this crowd have no discernible skills other than self-promotion. Why does the public pay attention to anything they do?

I've come to the conclusion that GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson is off mentally. Some of his beliefs are just too crazy: the pyramids were granaries; abortion not allowed even for incest rape that endangers the life of the mother; Obamacare is the worse thing "since slavery"; the president can ignore the Supreme Court; prison proves that being gay is a choice. And more. Way more. People who worked on an article about his house say the place is like a shrine to himself. My favorite:

Carson and Jesus together. BFFs.

I'd be way more impressed if this image was an actual photo.

On a far lighter note, I am glad to see we are using new approaches to the way we live our lives. For instance: geometric-shaped 3-D cereal whose flavors can be linked to colors. Would be a bowl of fun for breakfast. This is just the beginning. We will be using 3-D printers for just about everything in the future. I think some company in Scandinavia erects entire houses with a giant printer. Food will be grown in labs, extruded by these printers in any shape we want. Steak that looks like broccoli, broccoli that looks like lobster. Every meal an adventure. This is picture illustrating an article on 3-D printing published in Time magazine on Dec 1-8, 2014. (A portion of a picture taken by Justin Fanti.)

Not a whole lot on TV tonight so there will be more reading. Bar Rescue doesn't come on until 10 so I'll probably get to that tomorrow.

I should check with AM out in AZ to see how he's making out with his dog. Interesting story there which we will likely discuss more in the future.
