I'm so up I could float. It's been a great day and it's not even 6 yet.

Day started off quietly. Spent early morning working on the Algebra I course I'm taking from a Penn State professor. The morning was devoted to Variables and Algebraic Expressions followed by Operations and Expressions. Did good on the test problems. Working my way through the course is like opening a book to find old friends.

(I got this course from a company called The Great Courses. You can get nearly 600 of college-level courses from Astronomy to Zoology, history, economics, music, etc. Courses are presented by qualified scholars from hundreds of colleges and universities. Lectures vary in time ( 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes) and come through download, CDs and/or DVDs. Lecture numbers vary from a few (10) to many (84) depending on subject.)

Then off to the local hospital to help my mom deliver 80 knitted baby hats for newborn infants to go home in. She's up to 1025 so far. That number doesn't include the dozens she personally given to people or the adult hats for the oncology department. Not bad for a 93-year-old woman who is blind in one eye.

Got back and had a fun time playing with the Arduino. Been waiting for a temperature sensor to test and got tired of waiting so I went back to an earlier circuit and built a series of green LEDs. Got those working to where a single light pulse would seem to bounce from one end of the line to the other sweeping back and forth like the lights on the TV car Kitt from Knight Rider. Got that working to where I can vary the speed of the sweeps. The I added a big blue LED at the end of the little green LED line. I wired it into the overall circuit and programed it to light whenever the green pulse hit either end of the line.

Today I reprogramed controller to where I've got the blue light lighting after every two round trips of the green pulse. Like this:

So that's where I stand. Now I want to be able to have the blue light count and display the number of full sweeps that have taken place. Knowing C++ programming (even with most forgotten) has been invaluable but I'll never find where my books are packed. Getting a couple of reference books from Amazon.

THEN I figured it might be useful to be able to get a phone movie over to the desktop for inclusion in the blog. Managed to get there too. Good day. Fun.
